It’s 11/11/11 which makes it time to celebrate the unique and brilliantly conceived Nigel Tufnel Day.
If you don’t get the reference, do yourself a favour and watch Rob Reiner’s genuinely legendary ‘Rockumentary’ This Is Spinal Tap, which Peter Jenner, former manager of The Pink Floyd, once insisted to me is not a comedy, but an educational film that all bands should be obliged to watch repeatedly.
For the uninitiated and indeed the initiated, here’s the key moment in the film, that gives rise to the day in question.
